Our regional office opened in Lyon in 2013 and has focused on building a unique offering in public corporate law, which is historically one of DS’ areas of expertise, as well as in customs and international law. The office therefore advises both local and foreign companies on strategies for establishing and developing their businesses in the region or internationally in close collaboration with the country desks based in Paris and DS offices across the world.
Our team advises on transactional and contentious matters related to the public domain, administrative liability and damages from public works, functioning of public institutions, the law of public and para-public organisations, regional authority and inter-communality law, civil service, as well as public services, public contracts, public service delegations, urban planning and real estate. Its clients include public decision-makers (local communities and associations and public establishments), participants in the mixed economy and local public-private partnerships, as well as private sector companies that provide public services by operating networks (such as infrastructure and transport, telecommunication and electrical, postal, water and sanitation networks, in particular) or that are more generally active in the public domain, in fields such as food and large-scale distribution, quality indicators and designations, valuing public assets and land use planning.
Our team also provides its clients in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes with advice on customs law that takes into account local factors. The Lyon office boasts experienced lawyers in the environmental and sustainable development, employment, tax, restructuring, property and construction law departments. Lastly, the DS Avocats team, which has developed a recognised expertise for providing global solutions tailored to clients’ individual needs in the context of investing abroad, also advises foreign clients in the Auvergne Rhône - Alpes region, as well as French companies in European, Asian and emerging markets. The team brings together lawyers with extensive international experience who work in close collaboration with the specialised departments and teams and DS offices across the world.
